It is safe to say that one is consistently during the time spent learning? Obviously! Each experience an individual has causes them to develop and create. Through these encounters, they learn new materials, and simultaneously, they find out about themselves too. Figuring out how to compose is similarly indistinguishable. We will compose a custom paper test on Self-Assessment Final Reflection or on the other hand any comparative point just for you Request Now As an individual peruses and composes to an ever increasing extent, an individual can develop and build up their perusing and composing aptitudes. This late spring was a developing encounter for all understudies taking the composing 100 class. By and by, I trust I have developed as an essayist. Toward the start of the scaffold program, my CSP class was approached to compose a paper. The theme was concerning why we chose to pick U of M as our school of decision. Composing the paper was a breeze and I felt certain that I would get a passing mark. Lamentably, when I was given back my paper, I understood I earned a B on the paper. Be that as it may, during the timeframe where my educator was checking our papers, my Writing 100 class read David Bartholame’s article, Inventing the University. The first occasion when I read this article, I didn't comprehend what he was discussing and what his focal topic way. In any case, in the wake of perusing the article various occasions, separating it, delineating it, diagraming it, and expounding on it a few times, I had the option to comprehend what he needed the perusers to know; a light went off in my mind. I saw the slip-ups I made when composing my first paper for my CSP class. My article showed my absence of information on the numerous different exercises, and occasions held by the college. I was stuck in my normal spot, discussing just what I knew as opposed to searching out data so as to grow my composing abilities. I didn't look on the web to learn of some other data I could have utilized in the article. Rather, I just expounded on what I knew. I additionally understood that association was a key when composing an essay.â The biggest investigate I had on my article was my authoritative abilities. My teacher removed a few focuses for hopping from subject to theme. In spite of the fact that my authoritative aptitudes were horrible when composing that exposition, I trust I have shown signs of improvement. This is expected to a limited extent to Mrs. Allen. All through the composing course, she continually urged us to consider our association when composing papers, diary reactions, and other composing exercises. I’m appreciative I figured out how to all the more likely compose my papers, on the grounds that during the second to a week ago of the escalated connect program, I was approached to compose a last diary for my CSP class. This time, we met our folks and were gotten some information about our encounters while nterviewing them. While composing this paper, I gave close consideration to my association. I made everything stream into one another. I additionally ensured that my paper went in sequential request with the goal that it was simpler to peruse and follow. My educator took about seven days to review my paper. During this time, I had the option to contemplate upon my exposition. I comprehended what my educator was searching for, and I composed for him. I realized that I had given a valiant effort on the paper; my association was strong and I had a pleasant stream. I at long last got my article back on August tenth, accepting a 25/25. I was overjoyed when I had gotten my evaluation. This is all gratitude to my Writing 100 class and the difficult work that I put into the class. I’m thankful I had the chance to take this class and figure out how to build up my authoritative aptitudes. Through taking this class, my composing aptitudes expanded gigantically. At the point when I composed my first CSP paper, I had no clue about that my association was slanted and that I could improve. In my eyes, I believed that I didn't require any assistance and that my composing was â€Å"perfect†, or if nothing else, near. Notwithstanding, I had the option to discover that I expected to improve my association so as to prevail as a school author. Without this course, it would have been hard for me to adjust to the school level composing required for an English class. The assignments we were required to peruse and expound on showed me my composition; I could see where I required improvement. My experience exhibits that with consistent perusing and composing, an individual can keep getting familiar with their own writing so as to improve. There is consistently opportunity to get better. He advances to such human qualities as resilience and ethics. Figure of speech and allegories make feeling of the real world. For example, he expresses: the United States Negro is moving with a feeling of extraordinary criticalness toward the guaranteed place that is known for racia l equity (King). The idea of interdependency and association among people in King's origination of opportunity foresees dreams of opportunity and solidarity that I investigate in the second 50% of this book. As indicated by King, genuine opportunity necessitates that individuals have the option to practice decision and judgment. Isolation expels this capacity and along these lines settles on people casualties to the choices of others. Ruler manages his own sufferings and communicates the impacts of the isolation on his kindred companions on a size of widespread criticalness. His language is rationale and exact, compact and imaginative. Lord's talk has quality, profundity and delicacy of feeling. The primary element of this paper is that King utilizes authentic data dependent on reason and appeasements of the occasions which stand out of the crowd. On the off chance that the present church doesn't recover the conciliatory soul of the early church, it will lose its legitimacy' (King). Control of incredible inclination escalates passionate intrigue and includes sensational impacts. To give emotional depictions with force, to make the envisioned image of reality sparkle with in excess of a diminish light, requires the creator's best compositional forces. He tends to audience members expressing: Love your adversaries, favor them that revile you, do great to them that detest you, and appeal to God for them which despitefully use you, and abuse you (King). In the Letter, King makes a striking picture of racial isolation as a weight with denies numerous racial minorities an opportunity to be liberated from persecution and embarrassment. There is force of hallucination in light of the fact that the writer is available, continually helping perusers to remember his unnatural shrewdness. The ethical quality depends not on the legitimacy of precepts, yet on the ethical sense and contentions introduced in the work. In the two books, a specific measure of plot depends on enthu siastic reaction. For example, mistreated individuals can't stay abused until the end of time. The longing for opportunity in the long run shows itself, and that is what has befallen the American Negro (King). Outcry marks, facetious inquiry and equal structure of sentences include passionate shading. Individual tone is additionally a significant component of his talk, since it makes a specific vision of isolation and disparity from the creator's perspective. Argument Essay Topics - Why You Should Write Them

Argument Essay Topics - Why You Should Write ThemAgrument essay topics are quite varied and can be based on any topic related to the subject. There are no real rules for writing them, as you want them to flow and be personal, depending on your own needs.Although you may find yourself quite limited or have no clue as to what to write about, the key is to try and find the best topic for your essay. This may require trial and error and be able to show your inner academic genius, but this will benefit you later on.For example, a practical topic could be the weather. All day, every day weather is always fascinating, no matter where you are. When I was living in London, I had a friend who was concerned about whether the traffic would be especially bad, so I suggested a test driving in the middle of the road, and had a lovely ride through Central London.Someone else I know was a news reporter, which she pursued and when she retired, decided to stay with her parents in a country property. Sh e has lived there for over twenty years and has enjoyed the property. Each day, she will come to see it, as it is her favourite place.Once you've settled on a topic for your essay, you must think of what you're going to write. Your goal is to get across your ideas to the reader, and being as close to what you actually did, as possible, is paramount. What do you remember most about the subject? When writing the introduction for your essay, I found that if it was an interesting topic, it would hold my attention, and I would be more likely to read it. However, I would also like to have some good 'examples' to illustrate the ideas within the essay. So I simply provided my own experiences. By providing information boxes and paragraphs, I hoped to encourage readers to go on to the conclusion of the essay, by relating it to their own experiences. It may be that you can write similar examples, or that you may come up with several. So don't limit yourself, or try and be too scientific about i t.The reason why argument essay topics are written so extensively is because they're not limited to content in an academic paper. They allow you to write for entertainment purposes, and many people enjoy them.

Approaches to Reading Instructions

Approaches to Reading Instructions Teaching children can be a challenging task for some educators. Many of them have raised this concern. Then again, there are some approaches that can be used in order to help educators when it comes to reading instructions. This study will present the characteristics of whole language, whole word, and phonics in relation to such instructions. According to the National Institute of Health (n.d.), there are multiple ways that educators can teach reading and thus, learners have various options to learn. One of the approaches is the whole language technique. This method teaches children to recognize different words as a whole piece of language (Maddox Feng, 2013). On the other hand, the phonics approach, otherwise known as synthetic phonics in the UK, is a technique teaches the learners to read throughthe blending of sounds in order to form a word. There are differences in a way how teachers teach their students based on the approach that is used. The whole language is more of familiarization of how the word is written, while the phonics is particular with how such words should be pronounced. Another difference is that the whole word or whole language approach uses the learners’ visual skill, while the phonics approach uses the learners’ ability to pronounce the letters’ sounds based on their arrangement . Between these approaches, I can say that the phonics is the most effective because it does not only help the children identify the letters’ arrangement in every word, but it also helps them pronounce the words correctly. In the long run, learners will be able to achieve the learning outcomes of whole word and whole language approaches and at the same time, they will be able improve their pronunciation accordingly.

The innovation is universal and progressively fundamental to practically every aspect of current society. ICT gadgets and segments are for the most part reliant, and disturbance and one may influence numerous devices. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Cyber Security" essay for you Create order In the course of recent years, specialists and policymakers have communicated expanding worries about shielding ICT frameworks from cyberattacks, which numerous specialists hope to increment in recurrence and seriousness throughout. The demonstration of ensuring ICT frameworks and their substance has come to be known as cybersecurity. A wide and ostensibly fairly fluffy idea, cybersecurity can be a valuable term however a tendency to resist exact definition has. It is additionally the improperly conflated with different ideas, for example, protection, data sharing, knowledge social occasion, and observation. Notwithstanding, cybersecurity can be an imperative instrument in ensuring security and counteracting unapproved observation, and data sharing and knowledge in social occasion which can be valuable apparatuses for affecting cybersecurity. Guaranteeing cyber security is an unpredictable errand that depends on area information and requires intellectual capacities to decide conceiva ble dangers from a lot of system information. This examination explores how learning in organize operations and data security impact the identification of interruptions in a basic system and cybersecurity. To manage the present condition, consultative associations are advancing a more proactive and versatile approach. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), for instance, as of late issued refreshed rules in its hazard evaluation structure that suggested a move toward nonstop checking and constant appraisals. As indicated by Forbes, the worldwide cybersecurity showcase came to $75 billion for 2015 and is relied upon to hit $170 billion out of 2020. The administration of hazard to data frameworks is viewed as a major to compelling cybersecurity. The dangers related with any assault rely upon three components: dangers (who is assaulting), vulnerabilities (the shortcomings they are assaulting), and impacts (what the assault does). Most cyberattacks have constrained effects, yet a fruitful assault on a few segments of basic foundation (CI). The greater part of which is held by the private area†could adversely affect national security, the economy, and the job and wellbeing of individual subjects. Decreasing such dangers typically includes evacuating risk sources, tending to vulnerabilities, and diminishing effects. The government interaction with cybersecurity includes both securing elected frameworks and helping with ensuring nonfederal frameworks. Under current law, every single government organization has cybersecurity obligations identifying with their own particular frameworks, and many have division particular duties re garding CI. By large, government offices spend over 10% of their yearly ICT spending plans on cybersecurity. More than 50 statutes address different parts of cybersecurity. Five bills authorized in the 113th Congress and another in the 114th address the security of government ICT and U.S. CI reflects on the government cybersecurity workforce, cybersecurity innovative work, data partaking in both people in general and private segments, and universal parts of cybersecurity. Different bills considered by Congress have tended to cause a scope of extra issues, including information rupture counteractive action and reaction, cybercrime and law implementation, and the Internet of Things, among others. Among moves made by the Obama Administration amid the 114th Congress are advancement and development of nonfederal data sharing and investigation associations; declaration of an activity intend to enhance cybersecurity across the country; proposed increments in cybersecurity financing for ele cted organizations of over 30%, including foundation of a rotating store for modernizing elected ICT . The order laying out how the government will react to both government and private-division cybersecurity episodes was also laid. Those current authoritative and official branch activities are to a great extent intended to address a few settled needs in cybersecurity. In any case, those requirements exist with regards to troublesome long haul challenges identifying with outline, motivating forces, agreement, and condition. Enactment and official activities in the 114th and future Congresses could impact sly affect those difficulties The data innovation (IT) industry has developed significantly within the last 50 years. Preceded with, exponential advance in preparing force and memory limit has made IT equipment speedier as well as littler, lighter, less expensive, and simpler to utilize. The first IT industry has additionally progressively merged with the correspondences business into a consolidated area regularly called data and interchanges innovation (ICT). This innovation is pervasive and progressively vital to practically every feature of current society. ICT gadgets and parts are by and large associated, and disturbance of one may influence numerous others. The Concept of Cybersecurity Over the previous quite a while, specialists and policymakers have communicated expanding worries about shielding ICT frameworks from cyberattacks†ponder endeavors by unapproved people to get to ICT frameworks, as a rule with the objective of robbery, interruption, harm, or other unlawful activities. Numerous specialist s expect the number and seriousness of cyberattacks to increment throughout the following few years. The demonstration of ensuring ICT frameworks and their substance has come to be known as cybersecurity. A wide and ostensibly to some degree fluffy idea, cybersecurity can be a valuable term yet has a tendency to resist exact definition. It for the most part alludes to at least one of three things: ? An arrangement of exercises and different measures expected to secure†from assault, interruption, or different dangers†PCs, PC systems, related equipment and gadgets programming and the data they contain and convey, including programming and information, and in addition different components of cyberspace. The state or nature of being shielded from such dangers of cyber security includes the wide field of executing and enhancing online exercises and quality. It is identified with yet not by and large viewed as indistinguishable to the idea of data security, which is characterized in government law (44 U.S.C. ? §3552(b) (3)) as shielding data and data frameworks from unapproved sources, utilized, revelation, disturbance, adjustment, or annihilation with a specific end goal to give trustworthiness impact which implies guarding against ill-advised data change or obliteration, and incorporates guaranteeing data nonrepudiation and legitimacy. Secrecy is an important aspect in cybersecurity which implies saving approved limitations on access and exposure, including implies for securing individual protection and restrictive data. The next important aspect is accessibility, which implies guaranteeing convenient and dependable access to and utilization of data. Cybersecurity is likewise some of the time conflated improperly in broad daylight discourse with different ideas, for example, security, data sharing, insight social occasion, and observation. Protection is related with the capacity of a distinct individual to control access by others to data about that individual. In this way, great cybersecurity can help secure protection in an electronic domain, however data that is shared to aid cybersecurity endeavors may now and then contain individual data that at any rate a few eyewitnesses would see as private. Cybersecurity can be method for securing against undesired observation of and social affair of knowledge from a data framework. Be that as it may, when gone for potential wellsprings of cyberattacks, such exercises can likewise be valuable to help impact cybersecurity. Likewise, reconnaissance through checking of data stream inside a framework can be an imperative part of cybersecurity. Management of Cybersecurity Risks and the dangers related with any assault rel y upon three elements: dangers (who is assaulting), vulnerabilities (the shortcomings they are assaulting), and impacts (what the assault does). The administration of hazard to data frameworks is viewed as key to viable cybersecurity. What Are the Threats? Individuals who really or conceivably perform cyberattacks are broadly referred to as falling into at least one of five classifications: The first category is crooks expectation on fiscal picks up from violations, for example, burglary or coercion. Secondly spies plan on taking arranged or restrictive data utilized by government or private elements. Third classification is country state warriors who create abilities and embrace cyberattacks in help of a nations vital destinations and the last group is hacktivists who perform cyberattacks for nonmonetary reasons; and psychological oppressors who take part in cyberattacks as a type of non-state or state-supported fighting. What Are the Vulnerabilities? Cybersecurity from numerous points of view is a weapons contest amongst aggressors and safeguards. ICT frameworks are extremely mind boggling, and assailants are continually testing for shortcomings, which can happen at many focuses. Protectors can regularly secure against shortcomings. However, three are especially testing: incidental or purposeful acts by insiders with access to a framework; production network vulnerabilities, which can allow the inclusion of malevolent programming or equipment amid the procurement procedure. Notwithstanding for vulnerabilities where cures are known, they may not be actualized as a rule on account of budgetary or operational limitations. What Are the Impacts? A fruitful assault can trade off the privacy, trustworthiness, and accessibility of an ICT framework and the data it handles. Cyber theft or cyberespionage can bring about exfiltration of money related, restrictive, or individual data from which the assailant can profit, regularly without the information of the casualty. Foreswearing of-benefit assaults can moderate or keep honest to goodness clients from getting to a framework. Botnet malware can give an aggressor order of a framework for use in cyberattacks on different frameworks. Assaults on mechanical control frameworks can bring about the annihilation or interruption of the hardware they control, for example, generators, pumps, and rotators. Most cyberattacks have constrained effects, however a fruitful assault on a few segments of basic framework (CI)† the majority of which is held by the private area†could majorly affect national security, the economy, and the vocation and wellbeing of individual subjects. Subsequently, an uncommon effective assault with high effect can represent a bigger hazard than a typical fruitful assault with low effect. While it is broadly perceived that cyberattacks can be exorbitant to people and associations, financial effects can be hard to quantify, and gauges of those effects differ generally. The general figure for yearly cost to the worldwide economy from cybercrime is $400 billion, with a few spectators contending that expenses are expanding significantly, particularly with the proceeded with development of ICT framework through the Internet and other new and rising platforms. The expenses of cyberespionage can be considerably more hard to evaluate however are thought to be substantial. Managing the dangers from cyberattacks normally includes evacuating the risk source (e.g., by shutting down botnets or diminishing motivating forces for cybercriminals). Tending to vulnerabilities by solidifying ICT resources (e.g., by fixing programming and preparing representatives). Reducing impacts by moderating harm and reestablishing capacities (e.g., by having go down assets accessible for coherence of operations because of an assault). The ideal level of hazard lessening will change among segments and associations. For instance, the level of cybersecurity that clients expect might bring down an organization in the stimulation division than for a bank, a health center, or an administration office. Government Role in Cybersecurity The designated part in cybersecurity includes both securing elected frameworks and helping with ensuring nonfederal frameworks. Under current law, every single government organization has cybersecurity obligations identifying with their own frameworks, and many have division particular duties regarding CI. More than 50 statutes address different parts of cybersecurity. As a rule, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) create principles that apply to government, nonmilitary personnel, ICT under the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is in charge of supervising their execution. The Department of Defense (DOD) is in charge of military ICT, resistance of the country in cyberspace, and, through the National Security Agency (NSA), security of national security frameworks (NSS), which handle ordered data. NSA is likewise part of the Intelligence Community (IC). The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has operational obligation regarding insurance of government nonmilitary personnel frameworks and is the lead organization planning elected endeavors helping the private division in ensuring CI resources. It is additionally the principle government center of data sharing for regular citizen frameworks through its National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC). The Department of Justice (DOJ) is the lead organization for requirement of significant laws. Experts frequently say that powerful security should be a basic piece of ICT plan. However, engineers have generally centered more around highlights than security, for financial reasons. Additionally, numerous future security needs cant be anticipated, representing a troublesome test for architects. The structure of financial motivators for cybersecurity has been called contorted or even unreasonable. Cybercrime is viewed as shabby, gainful, and similarly alright for the crooks. Conversely, cybersecurity can be costly, by its tendency blemished, and the monetary profits for ventures are regularly uncertain. Cybersecurity implies diverse things to various partners, frequently with minimal normal concession to importance, execution, and dangers. Generous social obstacles agreement likewise exists, between parts as well as inside segments and even inside associations. Conventional ways to deal with security might be lacking in the hyper connected condition of cyberspace, however agreeme nt on options has demonstrated tricky aspect. Cyberspace has been known as the speediest developing innovation space in mankinds history, both in scale and properties. New and developing properties and applications†particularly web-based social networking, portable figuring, huge information, distributed computing, and the Internet†additionally confound the advancing danger. However they can likewise posture potential open doors for enhancing cybersecurity, for instance through the economies of scale given by distributed computing and enormous information investigation. Enactment and official activities in the 114th and future Congresses could adversely affect those difficulties. For instance, cybersecurity RD may influence the outline of ICT, cybercrime punishments may impact the structure of motivating forces, the NIST system may encourage accomplishment of an agreement on cybersecurity, and government activities in distributed computing and other new segments of cyber space may help shape the development of cybersecurity. In conclusion, organizations seem uninformed of the developing pattern in both the scale and modernity of cyber security dangers, and this is stressing. While cyber dangers are a piece of the new world, more should be possible to secure information and make it troublesome for gatherings to take or harm such information. With more up to date enactment pushing for more prominent security, needs may start to move, especially in light of the resistance punishments. While just following wont be the best methodology for shielding information from expanding assaults, it ensures that, that there is a base standard to be met, in any event diminishing the probability of an effective rupture. On a very basic level, the law is an intense apparatus to help with setting an exclusive expectation in information insurance, giving a level of security close by adaptability for firms to approach their arrangements in a business way. Although the withdrawal of the troops seems like a victory for the American people, John McCains criticism shows the issues with President Obamas idea. Governments Regulation on Gun Control Essay Example For Students

Governments Regulation on Gun Control Essay Argumentative EssayDecember 12, 2003Americans are confronted with growing acts of violence. Our streetshave become a place where the elderly are picked on, women are attacked andraped, where teen-age gangsters shoot it out for a patch of turf to selltheir illegal drugs, and where innocent children are caught in thecrossfire of drive-by shootings. We cannot ignore the harm that thesecriminals are doing to our society, and we must take actions to stop theseacts. However, the efforts by individuals to eliminate the legal ownershipof firearms disarms the innocent citizens who are in need of a form of self-defense. The simple definition of a criminal is someone who does not obey thelaw. The simple definition of a law-abiding citizen is someone who doesobey the law. Therefore, if we pass laws restricting ownership of firearms, which category does this affect. Gun control laws affect law-abidingcitizens only. By their very nature, the criminals will continue to violatethese new laws, they will continue to carry their firearms, and they willfind their efforts at crime much easier when they know that their victimswill be unarmed. Innocent people are turned into victims when new laws makeit impossible for them to fight back. An unarmed man stands little chanceagainst an armed one. An interesting recent development has been the recoilagainst the gun-control advocates. The second amendment to the Constitution of the United States makesfirearm ownership legal in this country. There were good reasons for thisamendment in the constitution. Firearms in the new world were used forhunting, and occasionally for self-defense. However, when the colonistsfelt that the load of British oppression was too much for them to bear, they picked up their personal firearms and went to war. Standing againstthe British armies, these people found themselves opposed by the greatestmilitary force in the world at that time. ( MACROBUTTON HtmlResAnchorhttp://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment02/)The 18th century was the height of the British Empire, but a group ofcolonial freedom fighters discovered the power of the Minuteman, theaverage American gun owner. These Minutemen, named because they would pickup their personal guns and jump to the defense of their country on aminutes notice, served a major part in winning the American Revolution. The founding fathers of this country understood that armed citizens wasinstrumental in fighting off oppression, and they made the right to keepand bear arms a constitutional right. ( MACROBUTTON HtmlResAnchorhttp://theamericanrevolution.org/battles/bat_lex.asp)Over the years, some of the reasons for owning firearms have changed. As our country grew into a strong nation, we expanded westward, exploringthe wilderness, and building new towns on the frontier. These new townswere far away from the centers of civilization, and there was little law. Crime had taken place, but the crime could be minimized when thetownspeople fought back against the criminals. Eventually, these organizedtownspeople developed police forces as their towns grew in size. Fewerpeople carried their firearms on the street, but the firearms were alwaysthere, ready to be used in self-defense. Gun-control advocates came around the time of the Civil War. Southern leaders, who were scared that the freed black slaves would takeadvantage of their new political rights. These Southern leaders wanted tomake it easier to oppress the free blacks. This oppression was successfullymet by passing laws making it illegal in many places for black people toown firearms. Souther leaders made sure that the black population would beunder their control, and the blacks would not have the ability to fightback. These people who were the biggest fans of denying black people theirbasic rights walked around with their firearms. This hypocrisy made itimpossible to resist their efforts. An unarmed man stands little chanceagainst an armed one. It was a full century before the civil rightsactivists of the 1960s were able to restore this constitutional freedom tothe blacks. ( MACROBUTTON HtmlResAnchorhttp://www.theatlantic.com/issues/2000/11/slotkin.htm)Gun control activists today are slightly different. There is nothing wrong with these activist ideas, however, they are going about it in the wrong way. Activists want to takeguns out of the hands of criminals, but they actually work to passlegislation that would take the guns out of the hands of law abidingcitizens instead. This is the main reason that the efforts of gun controlactivists does not address the real problem. (Roleff)The gun control advocates have argued their case by insulting the gunitself, rather than addressing the people who commit violent crimes. Thisargument is the main misconceptio n in their arguments. They attempt toclaim that possession of a gun turns gun owners into unaverage citizens. Iflegal possession of a firearm caused this sort of attitude, then why arecrime rates highest in areas such as Washington, D.C. and New York Citywhich have strict gun control laws? This is one simple case, where strictgun control laws have been enforced, and positive results have not beenshown. (Roleff) In many states, citizens have stated that they want topreserve their right to carry firearms for self-defense. States such asMichigan has been issuing concealed weapons permits to law-abidingcitizens, and these citizens have been carrying their firearms to defendthemselves from rampant crime. This right in Michigan has made many peoplebelieve that responsible and law-abiding citizens should not be deniedtheir constitutional right to bear arms to provide for their own protectionand security outside of their homes. In addition, they point out that theproposed bills would requir e a 12-hour training course to ensure that apermit holder understood gun safety requirements and the laws governing theuse of firearms for protection and other purposes. Therefore aninexperienced person can not carry a firearm. They need to be taught safetyof the weapon first if indeed they feel it is necessary to have slefdefense. (http://www.senate.state.mi.us/sfa/Publications/Notes/1998Notes/Juau98nn.html)Criminals will always find ways to get guns. In this country, thereis the use, possession, sale, and transportation of many kinds ofnarcotics, but its still easy for someone to take a ride and purchase thedrugs of their choice at street corner vendors. Firearms and ammunitionwould be just as easy as drugs for these black-market entrepreneurs todeliver to their customers. Today, criminals often carry illegal weapons, clearly showing their disregard for the current laws which make these itemsillegal. And when they are caught, the courts regularly dismiss theselesser weapons charges when prosecuting for the more serious charges thatare being committed with the weapons. The most recent efforts of the gun control has been to claimthat certain types of guns and ammunition are evil. They assign emotionalcatch phrases such as assault weapons and cop killer bullets to broadcategories of firearms and ammunition in the hopes that people will believethat some guns have an evil nature. Most people who are unfamiliar withfirearms do not fully understand what these phrases mean, and they acceptthe terms being used without question. What people do not often understandis that the term assault weapon has been defined to include all semi-automatic rifles, and cop killer has been defined to include any bulletthat can penetrate type two body armor. It comes as a surprise to mostpeople that a large number of simple hunting rifles can do both. Doesownership of one of these weapons cause people to become mass murderers? Itdoes not, and we must not fall into the trap of blaming the sword for thehand that wields it. (Roleff)In conclusion the act of making itillegal to ow n firearms does little to prevent criminals from getting guns. .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .postImageUrl , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:hover , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:visited , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:active { border:0!important; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:active , .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ub1caed8b9792b38060e1a068d00b5e9e:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X grew up in di EssayThese laws only prevent the people who respect the law itself, the peoplewho would only use firearms for legal purposes anyway, to use firearms. When we give people the right to defend themselves, we find that criminalsstart looking for other victims out of fear that they will become thevictims themselves. We must work to reduce crime in America, but we shouldlook at the problem realistically, and develop plans that would beeffective. The Price of Perfection free essay sample

Sooner or later everyone fails at something. An employee at a high-tech corporation misses a meeting and feels like the world is crashing down on him when all of his co-workers are ahead of the game. An â€Å"A† average student gets a â€Å"C† in a class she worked diligently in but still feels like she’d taken a punch to the stomach when all of her friends get better grades. Even the most cautious, responsible individuals forget to pay their taxes on time, or miss an important event, or realize they haven’t completed an assignment. Today, it seems like people try too hard to be perfect. Expectations from parents, teachers, employers and even an individual’s own goals to achieve greatness eat away at a person’s thoughts until he realize that there never is a way to be completely perfect. This revelation becomes the equivalent of a bomb exploding, as the person crumbles into a pile of defeat when his ambitions fail to impress. We will write a custom essay sample on The Price of Perfection or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Yet, if an individual simply tried to achieve his personal best instead of perfection, the bomb would falter, for the person would feel relieved and proud for doing the best that he knew he could do. As a high school senior, I admit that I have not known a wide variety of people in the world, but I have seen and known enough to come to the conclusion that my generation is the generation of perfectionism. I have seen friends I have known since elementary school torn apart by their desires to be perfect in academics, athletics and extra-curriculars. When they realize that someone else attained a better grade point average or scored more points they rapidly become like depleted balloons sinking to the earth faster than stones. I found myself in a pit of despair the summer before my senior year: my grades had not been as good as I had expected them to be; some of my extra-curriculars had been dropped or downsized due to the economy. All I saw ahead of me was another year of disappointment, another year of coming so close but still under-achieving my standards. I had to accept that even though my year was not that â€Å"perfect† senior year I had dreamed about, it wasn’ t over yet, and I still had a chance to make it my version of â€Å"perfect.† Perfection is a quality that in the history of the world, many have tried, but all have failed to accomplish. Napoleon and Michael Jordan are some historical â€Å"perfectionists† who seemed invincible, unstoppable in attaining greatness. But even they failed: Napoleon’s brilliant invasions to conquer all of Europe were thwarted by General January in Russia; Michael Jordan missed plenty of three-pointers that would have won the game for his team. My generation seems poised to not repeat history. In school, we are taught not to earn an education, but to earn a flawless education. Colleges and employers seek the â€Å"most qualified applicants,† in other words those students or employees with the best references, the best grades, the best personality, the best anything. People get the false impression that they must be the best to even be able to compete with others for an admission to school or a selection for a job. In reality, there will always be someone who w ill do better on tests, better on applications, better in a work environment. And until people realize that they will usually be second best, they will continue to strive to be perfect until they lose all focus on just striving to be the best individual possible. My wish for my generation is for people to realize that they will not be able to always be better than someone else. They should strive for success and work to the best of their abilities, but never overachieve to the point of desiring perfection. Once people float back down to earth from the high havens of dream-world and realize that they cannot ever achieve complete perfection, the extreme standards of competition will vanish. Until then, people will continue to strive to impossible heights and abuse themselves later when they try to scale the building and fail. The fall from perfection is a long one indeed, but the climb back up to the edge of satisfaction is even longer.

Violence Essays (941 words) - Abuse, Crimes, Domestic Violence

Violence Victims Throughout history many women have been victims of domestic violence. Society considered men to be superior to women because men were always in power economically, legally, and religiously. This gave men the attitude that women were inferior to them. Men harm their wives by beating them physically and abusing them emotionally. Many of these women did not report the abuse that they got from their spouses and families because they thought that no one would believe them. By becoming informed with the causes, effects, and treatments of domestic violence towards women in the United States, we can then contain the damages that are done to women or at least get the message across to other women that there is help to overcome this tragic display of affection. Domestic violence is defined broadly as violent acts carried out by persons in a marital, sexual, parental, or care-giving role toward others in reciprocal roles. Spousal abuse may apply to couples engaged in a sexual relationship outside of marriage. And child abuse may be penetrated by parents, siblings, step-parents, or live-in boyfriends or girlfriends of the abused child`s parent (Rosen 3). Battered women are defined as women that have been Victora 2 physically or emotionally abused by their husbands or families. These women suffer from many different types of domestic violence but the cause is just one abuse. Abuse happens to many women but most of the time it is not reported to the police. Abuse is an underreported crime, it is underreported for two reasons: a) it occurs in the privacy of one`s home where there are typically no witnesses aside from family member`s to detect and report it and b) though violence is by no means restricted to the lower classes, middle- and upper class violence is likely to go unreported to the police (Stets 3). Why it is not reported to the police could be the result of the emotions that are building up inside the victim`s head. These women feel apprehensive in reporting the abuse because they are scared of what the abuser will do to them. They were afraid because if he found out that they called the police he might hurt them or their children even more than he already did. The lower class violence is usually reported because they deal with social services more often than the middle and upper classes do. They are more educated in knowing that public social control agencies can help them get through the abuse. The middle and upper classes do not usually report these acts of violence because they probably can afford a psychiatrists or a marriage counselor. Abusive behavior begins in cycles and not everyday occurrences. This abusive cycle is called the battering cycle and it contains three phases. The first phase is the tension-building phase, the second phase is the explosion or acute 3 battering incident phase, and the third phase is the calm, loving phase. The first phase is when the woman notices the man building tension and becoming very edgy which causes minor violent episodes. Then the second phase begins when that tension builds up higher and the man explodes in anger or in a blind rage that revolves into a severe violent incident. And the third and final phase is when the man apologizes and tries to win the woman back by showering her with gifts. The abuse that women obtain towards them can be experienced with various types of violence. Those types of violence can be anything from a minor push or shove to something major such as threatening with a weapon. In the past, spousal abuse has been treated as a fairly simple set of violent behaviors. The five most common types of domestic or spousal violence are: 1) when a woman is thrown against an object, 2) when she is hit with the man`s open hand or fist, 3) when she is pushed or shaken roughly, 4) when she is hit with an object and the 5) and most deadly of all is when a woman is threatened with a weapon (Rhodes 32). The causes of domestic violence towards women in the United States are many but the best known and lucid are the male gender attitudes of being number one. Men have the idea that women are worthless and inferior to them. This concept degenerates women to a lower class or form of life that can not allow men to see women as their equals. According to Violence Hits Home, Karen Rosen reported that men who abuse

buy custom Death and Loss in Dylan Thomas Poetry essay

buy custom Death and Loss in Dylan Thomas' Poetry essay Dylan Thomas was a great and famous writer and poet, who not only wrote poems and plays but also performed them himself. Thomass poetry was unique in that it was played in a verbal style as compared to other strict and common verse forms. This paper is a criticism analysis of Dylan Thomass poetry and especially in the poem Death and loss in Dylan Thomas poetry. Analysis of Death and loss in Dylan Thomas poetry The first part of the poem Death shall have no dominion and death shall have no dominion, dead mean naked they shall be one, with the man in the wind and the west moon is a about doom with no light or hope. In other words the first part of this poem simply points at doom. Dylan Thomas introduces this poem in a strong way but with no life or hope at all. He suggests that death can have no dominion on the dead and that the dead can still be one. He does not in any way suggest a way out or portray a ray of hope. (Thomas, 1971) The second part of the first paragraph, Dylan suggests that the dead can no longer feel pain or be subjected to torture. This means that in Dylans mind, his life or the life of the people he was referring to is fixed to in the meaning of their death. In other word Dylans poem simply means that the only hope of these people is in their death. This is because in their death, they shall be free from the blows and torture that they are currently experiencing in their lives. However other critics have suggested that this first paragraph shows great hope and redemption. The critics have argued that this poem is a poem of hope and that everything mad, harsh insane and evil is overcome in the event of death or after death. The best line in the poem that drew many good reviews of the poem is though lovers be lost, love will not. This according to many analysts is a sign of hope. They argue that this line means that love will live on even after death. They also argue that this line talks of the preservation of life. According to this analyst, this poem is a very positive poem. However, the nature and flow of this poem has no positive attributes. Other analysts call it a religious theme which is not about survival after death but purely about death and destruction both in life and after death. (Thomas, 2003) Dylan wrote many poems that deal with death. For example A refusal to moan this poem refers to end of self esteem and loss of identity as an indiv idual. The poems do not go gentle into that good night has been seen by many analysts as a cry for survival, or a lost cry. The most outstanding character that is seen from this poem is Dylans fear of being left by his father. The line rage, rage against the dying of the light is a sign of the emotions that Dylan was going through or that he felt at the loss. Other analysts have suggested that Dylans was writing about a universal experience .Mostly an experience of how men would react in such a scenario. It all has to do with death but also shows a way of facing the prospect the death of a loved one. Rage, according to Dylan was his reaction to the demise of his father; rage against his father and against death. This is because he had no power to change the course or his father death. Many good reviews on this poem state that one has to be sad sometimes and angry if need be. This poem shows also a rage against the things that would want to bury a person and the inability to change th em. However, other critics have argued that this poem does not offer an option to fight against the things that want to bury them but rage against them. Thus they argue that this is a cowardly way out. Dylan Thomas poetry has a unique flow is woven and dominated by speech rhythms. What was the effect of Dylan Thomas poems to the audience? Dylan Thomas did not only impact and leave a mark in the audience of his time but to date. Dylans poetry continues to draw reaction, views, reviews and criticism from many different people from different walks of life. These poems will continue to impact the generations to come. This is because Dylan Thomas remains a legendary figure of the century. He has also made a permanent mark in the literary history and field. Many recent writers are not only motivated by Dylans poems but also draw inspiration and ideas from these poems. This is simply because of Dylans extraordinary writing style that have touched and changed the very heart of poetry. Many scholars and analyst still can not capture the height of the unique nature of his poetry style. His writing or poetry style was refreshing and odd at the same time. However, Dylans was accused and is still being accused of drowning in language and on whiskey at the same time. However, this was not so, from the history Dylans early history and his sober poems, it is clear that Dylan was very committed to his poems and did not sleep or drown on his job. Dylans unique talent has long been remembered for many decades after his death and will continue to be remembered for many generations. (Thomas, 2000) The big question is who will fill his shoes? Did his talent die with him? What inspired Dylan Thomas to write his poems? Dylan Thomass poems clearly reveal and show a focus from his childhood and his believes. However, some of his poems shoow his believe in a sacred spiritual force that made his life worthwhile .The most outstanding aspects of his poems depict his uncertainty about the darkness and death. He probably wonders if the extensive darkness he experiences or thinks he will experience can ever be brightened. He does not see any hope in the darkness but is overwhelmed with the darkness. He expresses his anger and rage in his poems by a tactful manner and in a unique style. (Thomas, 2003) His unique style captures, attracts and draws attention. This is simply means that Dylan Thomass inspiration to write his poems came from his personal experiences and believes. Some of his quotes such as someones boring me, I think it is me, an alcoholic is someone you do not like and who drinks like you Clearly show how he viewed himself and his low self esteem. Was Dylans death related to the theme in his poems? This question has attracted many reactions, views, and suggestion on the subject. Many people have viewed it as an unfair comparison. However, from his quotes such as a good poem is a contribution to reality analysts suggest that he got what he wished for. Dylan Thomas indulged in heavy drinking from his early days, a vice that had a negative effect on his life as a whole and his marriage as well. His untimely death was because of his drinking. In his poems he talks about rage and anger towards things that he had no control over. His fear and anger for death is clearly seen in his poems. The theme of his poems was death. The poem a refusal to moan death was one of the most popular poems of his time. (Thomas, 2010) This poem was about death. Dylans attitude towards death is clearly seen in this poem. In this poem Dylan or the person he is talking about is concerned and mourns the absurdity of a childs death or an untimely death. To Thomas, the reality of death in his life was very im portant .The reality of death not only made him angry but was also a cause of concern this is because he was concerned mainly about the after life or after death. What comes after death or after his untimely death was a way for him to face his worse fears and experience first hand what happens after life or what happens after death. Conclusion Dylan Thomas was a legendary figure in that made an impact in his time and in the 20th century as well. Dylans poetry will continue to impact the world in many generations to come. The many critics and the criticism will not in any way change the impact that Dylans poems have had. The unique writing style will continue to make history in the generations to come. Brueggemanns Bridge Between Form Criticism of The Psalms, Theology and Spirituality Theology Religion

‘Form Criticism' of the Psalms has been around for less than a hundred years. Prior to 1920's study use of the Psalms was pretty much limited to a ‘historical-critical' approach and a ‘Christological' approach. That is Ââ€" the establishing of who wrote what and why and the reading of psalms within the context of ‘Christ', respectively. To fully appreciate how Brueggemann builds these bridges between form criticism, theology and spirituality we will first look at a basic understanding of the foundations of form criticism onto which Brueggemann offered his new schema. Secondly we shall look at Brueggemann's schema and how he builds and develops these bridges into theology and spirituality. Finally we shall be reflecting on ‘Christian spirituality' That is; we shall be reflecting on how this schema helps us in our engagement with secular spirituality with particular reference to the area of ‘urban hip-hop' and ‘new punk'. I am basing my understanding and f ramework of spirituality on the work of Bob Mayo in his work ‘Making Sense of Generation Y' (2006). In it he proposes that spirituality can be understood in two ways Ââ€" Formative spirituality; that is a level of spiritual understanding and awareness that everyone is born with and everyone has. And secondly transformative spirituality; that is a level of spiritual understanding and awareness that builds on formative spirituality into having a personal and communal outworking. And so in answering ‘How does Brueggemann build bridges between form criticism of the Psalms, theology and spirituality?' I shall be addressing spirituality in a Christian transformative understanding and from a secular formative spirituality understanding. THE DEVELOPMENT OF FORM CRITICISM As stated earlier it wasn't until the 1920's and the work of Hermann Gunkel, and his student Sigmund Mowinkel, that form criticism really started. Gunkel and Mowinkel observed that the Psalms only really had a very limited framework of approaches and styles Ââ€" The Hymn, Communal Lament, Individual Lament, Royal Psalms and Individual Thanksgiving. Further work identified five further, less common categories of Psalm Ââ€" Communal Thanksgiving, Wisdom, Pilgrimage, Entrance Liturgies and finally Mixed Poems .

Ethical and Legal Issues in the Workplace Research Paper

Ethical and Legal Issues in the Workplace - Research Paper Example In terms of workplace conditions, modern racism does not lead to hate against women and other minorities; however, they cause discomfort and avoidance from members of the majority (Cornelius, 2002). Where the workplace or organization has some groups which represent minority populations, they usually create a crucial group of people who can also protect these members from unfavourable stereotypes (Cornelius, 2002). In some instances, the increased number of women in the upper rungs of management is linked with a decreased tendency towards stereotyping. Authors discuss the significance of indicating threshold points where there is a sufficient number of minorities in groups in securing diversity change techniques (Kosek, et.al., 2003). Tsui and Gutek (1999) also point out consistent indications which express more similarities among supervisors and subordinates in terms of age, ethnicity, and gender correlations with human resource outcomes performing better and having less role ambigu ity and conflict. Leck, et.al., (1995) discuss that some organizations which are more diverse (i.e higher female population), also manifest with lesser wage gaps. Among groups, studies indicate that there are varying results and outcomes from diverse setups. Analysis by McLeod and colleagues (1996) indicate that more diverse groups were likely to engage in improved quality solutions in terms of brainstorming, mostly in relation to homogeneous groups; they also displayed more coordination and cooperation.

Has globalization improved womens political and economic conditions Essay

Has globalization improved womens political and economic conditions - Essay Example 2. Globalisation is said to have been successful and has been beneficial, but at the same time it has caused harm or damage. There are both winners and losers from globalisation.3 Globalisation has not affected all countries or regions in the same way, so that the processes of change is not the same for all.4 Because of different levels of modernisation and technological capacity, regions and countries have not felt similar effects of globalisation. Southeast Asia’s experience, for example, differs from that of the experiences of Vietnam and South Korea in terms of benefits and losses in the process of economic globalisation.5 Across regions, socio-economic groups within regions, and between sexes, the process has not been equal.6 Those who benefit from it generally assert that it, too, is beneficial for all. On the other hand, those against it, particularly the intellectuals and street protesters, declare that it is universally evil.7 Hence, there are strongly differing views on globalisation including when it concerns women. Author George Soroos,8 for example, argues that the global financial system is dangerously unstable and must be regulated. Another one, Clare Short 9 argues that the outcome of globalisation depends upon political choices made. Writing in December 2000 in Making Globalisation Work for the Poor, Short asserts that if and only if the right political choices are made, can the poor benefit. 10 Lene Sjorup11 does not look at globalisation as an arch-enemy. She says women may sometimes be victims of globalisation but can also be benefactors as actors too. Arguing that globalisation if not defined, examined, and discussed, is a very broad category, she says it can become useless as an analytical tool. For example, she warns that a myopic view of globalisation may depict it as an overwhelming enemy victimizing women, but when integrated with a nation state’s system, globalisation will even strengthen the feminist movement worldwide. Relationship Issues Essay -- International Relations, Japan, South Kor

Different arguments and disagreements between countries can be found throughout our history on this Earth. A relationship that is lesser known is the relationship between Japan and South Korea. Japan and South Korea are two countries that are trapped by their past. Although the two countries are slightly similar when it comes to manners, but they are also very different in cultures and beliefs. Different cultures and beliefs are not the only reason that is keeping them apart though. Japan and South Korea have a long history. A history of colonial rule and lack of trust in Japan, South Korea chooses not to ally itself with Japan. Although the two countries have been working on stabilizing their relationship, they still need to overcome some issues. Japan and South Korea's unstable relationship could be improved by sharing their cultures more or through a military alliance. Japan and South Korea's relationship is known as a "quasialliance" (Cooney 9). The two countries are both allies with the United States, but Japan and South Korea still remain unallied to each other. Japan and South Korea still maintain in an unstable relationship. Although the two countries do not physically fight, they do not associate with each other much. South Korea holds little trust in Japan and its people because of their past relationship. The relationship between the two countries started with Japan's colonial rule over South Korea that lasted for thirty-five years and ended in the year 1945. Korean citizens protest and claim that Japan and its citizens do not acknowledge how cruel the colonial rule was . Even Japanese school books do not go into detail about the colonial rule. South Korea and its citizens claim that the text does not justify ... ...a could become a threat to Japan's East Asia leadership (Cooney 7). Japan leads East Asia in business. South Korea has great potential, in Asia, to become a leading role. The idea of South Korea becoming the leading role frightens Japan. Japan and South Korea have also had disputes over ownership. Disputes could carry on even if the two become allies. Japan and South Korea can become allies. The process may take some time but eventually the two countries will be able to see eye to eye. They may become allies through the culture the two already share with one another, or maybe they could become allies economically through the business relationship they have. North Korea and the United States might even play a role in the two countries becoming allies. Whatever the reason, Japan and South Korea can become allies. The possibilities for both countries are amazing.

Shakespeare’s play Essay

Explore the dramatic techniques used by Henry V to inspire his men before the battle of Agincourt. William Shakespeare’s play â€Å"Henry V† is set in 1415, when Henry becomes King Henry V of England. As a young man Henry enjoyed drinking and the company of women. When he became King Henry changed, he wanted to be taken seriously and to be treated like an adult, so he gave up drinking. Henry was angry and insulted by a birthday present of a box of tennis balls from the King of France, Henry thought the King of France was suggesting that he was still a boy and not a man capable of ruling England. To prove he was a man Henry ordered the invasion of France. Henry’s first battle was the Siege of Horfieur Henry V where he inspired his troops with a speech before leading them into battle. Henry said they had to behave like tigers and show no fear only strength. The next battle was the Battle of Agincourt, Henry’s troops were exhausted after their last battle and were out numbered five to one. But Henry tries to inspire them again for the last time he starts off talking dramatically about death, â€Å"if we are marked to die, we are enough to do our country loss. † I think he is saying that if the English are meant to lose the battle then it is better that they die, than thousands more if they wait for help. Then he goes on to say, â€Å"if to live, the fewer men, the greater the share of honour† if they fight there is a chance that only a few will survive and these few men will have gained honour. After this he stops talking about death and attempts to be more positive and tries to get his troops off the subject of death and to think about the honour that will achieve. Henry attempts to make them closer and tries to unite them as a family, by saying, â€Å"I who doth feed upon my cost† and â€Å"It yearns me not if mean my garments wear† which means that he does not mind paying for them all to eat and he also is not bothered if they wear his clothes. Henry also made it clear that any one who did not want to fight that was free to leave, when he said, â€Å"That he which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. His passport shall be made and crowns for the convoy put into his purse†. I think that by saying this Henry means that any one of his troops is free to go, he will even give them money to get home, but if any choose this option then they would be giving up their chance for honour. And people would remember them as men who were not manly enough to go into battle. Henry continues his speech by reminding his troops that, â€Å"This day is called the Feast of Crispian†, this is a Saint’s day that the English would have celebrated with a feast. Henry says that â€Å"He that outlives this day and comes safe home. Will stand a-tiptoe when this day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian† he is telling his troops that when the celebrate the Feast of Crispian they will always remember the battle and remind themselves by showing their old scars to neighbours and friends because men that were not in the battle would not remember it but those that took part would always remember it, â€Å"Then will he strip his sleeve and show his cars, And say â€Å"These wounds I had on Crispin’s day†. Old men forget, yet all shall be forgot. But he’ll remember, with advantages†. Henry mentions some of his troops by name â€Å"Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester†, then offers a toast to them, â€Å"Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered†. By using their names I feel Henry makes it seem like the speech is directed to the troops individually and personally this makes them feel special and inspired them to fight harder for Henry. Again Henry uses this technique to make his troops feel that they are part of his family that he is one of them by saying, â€Å"But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers†. Henry goes on to say, â€Å"For he today that shed his blood with me. Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile†, by saying this Henry was ensuring that any of his troops who were injured in the battle would be inspired to keep fighting because Henry would regard them as his brother. Henry ends his speech by saying, â€Å"And gentlemen in England, now abed, shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks†, by say this he is inspiring his troops that they are more manly and should feel honoured to be fighting today as any man in England that had missed the battle and stayed at home would feel ashamed when they heard of the great victory and therefore feel less manly. The battle of Agincourt was a great victory for the Henry’s tired English troops, they overcame great odds to win. I feel that Henry used this dramatic speech in the play to motivate and inspire the English troops on to victory against the French by lifting their spirits, promising them great honour, also by making them feel part of his family, almost like brothers fighting side by side and by promising them a battle they would never forget.

Freedom is a big representation of this nation ever since slavery was ended due to the Thirteenth Amendment but unfortunately, there still are some forms of slavery outside of the United States. â€Å"American Anti-Slavery Group monitor reports concerning cases of contemporary slavery from around the world† (Slavery, 2010).
